All the burn crap is their because I work in a large kitchen. It is Not a fun thing to run out of burn ointment when you need it. And yes I did say Hell Money. It is used by some Asian cultures in their funeral rights. I carry it on the very bottom of my kit for various reasons. One is I like to honor other cultures. Two as a very last resort fire starter. And three well if that fire goes out and all hope is lost well at least I will have a head start in the After Life.

The herbs I am talking about are Rat-Root(Muskrat Root, Acorus calamus), Sweet Grass(Hierochloe odorata) and Tobacco. The Rat-Root has been used by my people to cure colds and flu's for centuries. This plant can be dangerous if used improperly. The Sweet Grass Is ceremonially burned to clean people and places. The Tobacco is sacred to my people, and is left behind as an offering to the spirits when we harvest something.

All useful items that can help you survive. The needles are for irrigation, cigs for a morale boost, alcohol for pain killing, antiseptic, bad day in the bush... As for the painkillers what if you get a bad injury? You may already know that but i'm just making sure, I don't mean to offend you or anything.

Here's that breakaway kit i'm so fond of. I adjusted my kit so it is the same way, a bag that can be seperated from the main pack and still be useful. So if i must run away in a hurry i can just grab the breakaway and still survive, though not aswell if i had the full backpack. A very good idea! Wish people would post helpful comments... Question: what does the ratweed and other herbs do? Correct me if i'm wrong but did you say hellmoney?

"a total stoner" Not the last time I checked. If you are referring to the pack of green stuff, I hate to disappoint my friend. But that is loose leaf green tea. This kit is with me everywhere both at work and at play. I cant afford to have anything illegal in the kit. No kit should contain anything illegal, It defeats the purpose of carrying a first aid kit, if you refuse to open it in times of need because you don't want someone to find your stash.

No you would not turn yourself in to charcoal. The moss contains enough moisture to keep from burning. As well I usualy wrap the moss in Burchbark, and pack the moss down on the charcoal, to prevent air from lighting the charcoal. Wraped in the moss it will only smolder.

Light the charcoal, wrap it in moss, and throw it in your backpack? This sounds like the start of a Darwin award. Wouldn't I just turn myself into a piece of charcoal?

thanks, I will give that some thought. That kit cost me about $40,00, minus the case. Remember build a kit that suits your needs, skills and location. Kits for urban use can contain less supplies because of easier resupply opportunities. Were as rural or even bush locations need to be prepared to be more self reliant.
