Am from the East and dont think its racist at all. Brings people of different nationalities together in a humorous situation. The apparent racism that you see is just an exaggeration of the commonly held views that we have for people from different nationalities (Like Su Li's diatribes from General Mao and Jamila's knitting). They should really bring this show back though I really doubt if we have this calibre of scriptwriting today.

I miss him very much. I can find none like him today. Like VinBad007, I'm from the U.S. and we got Benny Hill via syndicated programming in the mid-late 70's, along with many others britcoms on PBS. It's a testament to his talent that even though I didn't understand the british programming he was spoofing, I still found it uproariously funny. Now, thanks to DVDs and the internet, I can track down exactly all the things he was sending up and I can laugh again 30 years later in a new way.

I am from America as well. Loved Benny, Monty Python, No,Honestly, The Two Ronnies and Faulty Towers just to name a few. Great, great stuff!! I started watching Benny when I was about 15 years old,( I am now 45 )and this stuff is still just as funny as it was 30 years ago. My Dad and I just loved Benny and watched him in reruns every night. He and Chris Farley were the only two celebrities that made me cry when I heard of their passing. God Bless you,Benny for making my dad and I laugh. : )

TRACY turned this part down twice...then later decided to take the part when he was told that they were going to see if ALAN LADD would do it. We all know that LADD wasn't in TRACY'S league as an actor...but I've thought about it a lot over the years...and I believe now that this would have been a PERFECT ROLE for LADD. Still a memorable TRACY movie...but in this particular Fight Scene with BORGNINE...my opinion is that ALAN LADD would have been more believable.
