whoa.. stop stop Derren...u are just too wound up in this show! Too much coffe Derren or what!? U seem frantic or desperate for the audiences approval. Trying to "wow" the audience so hard that it becomes annoying! U run around sweating like a pig appearing out of control. This style doesnt suit u at all. if i had been in that audience i would have felt stressed and not entertained! I hope u read this Derren. Leave it to Penn and Teller to play the clowns... its not for u!

a LOT of it is suggestion.. you can check it out throughout the whole "something wicked comes this way. CHECK THIS OUT: on the video derren brown- lying game part 2, at 3:02, he says psychics get big business, and if youre willing to "page 14 hundred pounds" blah blah.... he says page 14, not pay 14....theres bits of this type of suggestion alll the way through

I don't believe for a second that this trick relied purely on the powers of suggestion or on psychology. Even if you can use suggestion to influence a person's choice, it will still not work anywhere near 100% of the time. And when you consider the number of choices that must be made to arrive at that exact word, you end up with a pretty low chance of actually getting it. There is obviously a great deal more trickery than he is letting on and his explanation merely serves to mislead the audience

yes thats correct they do that,they are certain it happens everytime,derren leaves NOTHING TO CHANCE - he is bound to have an out if the word choice fails - if that happened then you wouldnt see the banner - u wouldnt miss it either bacause you wouldnt know about it till it dropped down. as for word in big letters - whats to say there is not a back up word also in the same envolpe - did u see inside it ? So, they get the word from the newspaper, write it down in big letters, make a banner of it, make a video edit within 2 hours of all the times certian things will happen, all within 1 day.

I hate to burst your bubble but no physcology/suggestion ploys happend in the newspaper section - magicains choice choose the page 14-watch it fully - derren even tells u how he did it " magic boy switching a piece of paper at the end " which he did. the camera stuff was just clever scripting to re-enforce his effect - smoke and mirrors. im not pissing on ya chips but ALL of derrens stuff is magic redressed as his pysdo stuff - its called misdirection - devils picture book..check it out

the newspaper prediction and the other psychological tricks he does is what i commented on in the first place. and like i said before, he is very good at it. and also, like i hinted at before, these sort of tricks are being used constantly by mass-media to hypnotise and manipulate the population into accepting and even enjoying their servitude. (check out Alan Watt for more on this) I can agree with you that the party conjuring tricks are trickery, no argument;-)

Could you explain which part is the 99 percent trickery, and which part is the 1 percent 'unconscious behaviour'? subconscious suggestion and psychology are a bit different from slight of hand card tricks.

this one man can do amazing things with his manipulative psychological tricks of the mind. he is quite amazing at it. now imagine what you could do if you had control of the mainstream media and what you could achieve through mass manipulation using these and other psychological tricks to paint a picture of life and gain control of your audience, bending them to your will and making them do what you want them to do. It's not a great leap...
