I got hit by a Double-Decker bus after the first night of the London Astoria performance on the 2002 tour... walking across Charing Cross road and looked the wrong way. =P This is the only band in the world I would go through something like that for. (Luckily, I was only bruised from the collision.. but my ex-wife was badly injured.) The worst part is... we missed the second night when they covered a lot of Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd. Still, it was a memorable concert and DT was worth it.

Already pre-ordered the DVD 2 a week ago. As always, this looks just incredible. Can't wait to see the photage from the Toronto show which ive been to. Not trying to be a dick, but i'd say if this is your favorite DT song, you need to listen to more of them. Listen to anything off of awake or images in words or Octavarium *Labrie's best albums* if you're looking for good vocals. If you're more into amazingly technical instrumentals, go with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance, or Falling into infinity. Octavarium works for that too. Thats just a great album all around. Not putting this song down though, it owns as well, just not their best IMO.

I do not know about you but I like Dream Theater for how they are and not for a shortened version for the sake of a 5:00 music video. If you want to hear music like that, then listen to Kamelot or Thought Chamber, both of which are excellent bands. But if you want to hear Dream Theater, the only way to do that is in full, both by song and by cd. The editing for constant motion sucked also because they took out the best part because it was purely instrumental. Sorry, but I completely disagree.

I am half and half on the editing issue, some of DT's songs have totally pointless parts that are only there to bring it past the arbitrary "Prog" song length quota. I mean if you only have 7 minutes of concept and it takes you 15 minutes to say it you may have a filler problem. I do like the full version of this song though, sometimes editing can go the other way. If it was originally edited before we heard it we would not know the difference.

Saw them Last night at The Terminal 5 In NYC. Awesome show hated the venue though it had a good sound. Reminded me of when we were packed into the Birch Hill like sardines to see them back in the day. At least this place held more people.

By the way, you know that they didn't GRADUATE Berklee...they only attended for a short time and quit for the band...Anyone can GO to Berklee, it's FINISHING BERKLEE that makes the difference. Aside form this...I think he's perfect for DT and he's a good drummer, but vastly overrated. There are a lot of MUCH better drummers around than Portnoy. I can think of 10 right now...

tkot2326, Mike Portnoy is definetely my favorite drummer, but ther4e are better drummers. Check out Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, and Joe Morello. I'm not sure what Portnoy's opinion is on the last two, but even he admits that Neil Peart is a better drummer than him.

I have that CD now (the release here in germany was on March 28)! And I must say my expectations weren't that high because I already knew all those edited songs (except the newly remixed songs of course) BUT it's awesome!!! I always wondered about the song selection (not really the songs I would call the GREATEST) but after I read Mike's 'explaining' inside I understood. And the sound of all those songs is really stunning. To every fan and new listener, it's really worth it! =)

In the liner notes from the When Dream And Day Reunite CD, Mike states they "... do not have the rights to the original masters in order to re-mix them," and that they "... would never be interested in re-recording the songs in the studio." That's why they did the live version of it on the 15th anniversary.
