The song is so simple, its only 4 chords on the guitar. Yet it's presented with such ease and elegance that it's damn near hypnotic. And then there are the lyrics. The feeling of longing is as universal as it gets. We've all been there but to often we let our day to day get it in the way. We are all very fortunate that JJ Cale captures and channels that kind of emotion for us all. A shot of JJ's Magnolia helps to heal the sprite if only for a little while.

This guy is a legend, his music means as much for music as for example Bob Marley's reggae. I ask myself this question many times: Why is this guy not so famous? I think it's because of his personality, he doesn't like to be in the spotlights. The man is the most relax and shy person I know. she's Christine Lakeland, and has been with John (J. J.) Cale from Day 2 (if not day 1). Plays a mean piano, too. I'm in Memphis Tennessee, and we do it slow here...LOL I've seen J. J. about 100 times, and he never blows it, even when the band does. If they blow it, he's kinda nice about it.
