Home Made Plasma Cutter with Blow Forward Starter Posted by: cheaphardwarez
Video duration: 23 seconds A blow forward plasma torch starts the arc by blowing apart the touching electrodes then the arc is transfered to the work plate. This torch head requires 50 amps of power and will cut 1 inch steel. To add this to the home made plasma cutter you will need to add a second resistor in parallel. Blow Forwared Plasma Arc Starting Posted by: cheaphardwarez
Video duration: 49 seconds Plasma arc can be started with a blow forward torch head instead of using high voltage. The arc is drawn in a manner similar to welding only its air that pushes a spring loaded tip forward from the electrode to draw the arc out. From there the arc transfers to the work piece being cut. There is no link between plates! It is a series cell design; baking soda so its 4 volts per cell. Water must not pass around the plates or you loose efficiency as the current goes around plates instead of through the plates.
