By: chemistryguyMD. on 03 Dec 08, 03:28:42
Actually English is a rather interesting combination of Germanic languages and Latin. American English is even more diverse, in fact English has the biggest vocabulary of any language in the world.

translate this...git it rite up ye ya fuckin buft ken?
By: WorshipInTruth. on 03 Dec 08, 00:52:04
You do not need to open your mouth to learn. Better to remain silent and read. Yes apparently I did spell germanic wrong. It was a typo, actually I almost just did it again haha. I know how to fuckin spell germanic. There is a difference between making a mistake and making a false statement. Typo=mistake false statement=lie.

Better to speak your mind and discover your errors than hold your tongue and remain a silent, ignorant bastard... don't you think? Plus, you spelled Germanic wrong... by that undeniable and empirical fact you must be stupid. I'm a firm proponent of if you don't know how to spell it, you shouldn't write it. Just kidding, everyone makes mistakes and they don't usually deserve to be attacked for a simple error.

The only thing this is missing is an American engineer operating the teleporters.

It's actually it's North East Coast Scottish which is a Scottish language of its own which is the whole point of the sketch. It's Scots taking the piss out of Scots, no harm really. I don;t see any need for the aggression in some of these comments.... FOR FUCK SAKE, KEN!
By: jobe5514. on 24 Nov 08, 04:14:51
Fuck off comes to mind.

By: Mazanostra. on 22 Nov 08, 11:13:43
Plz do! If im not mistaken they speak in Doric dialect (thats what i was told it was called when i was living in Aberdeen) and the only words i know from it are "ken, fit, lik, nae, abide", so i'd say my vocabulary is pretty limited! :P
By: hoadmaback. on 22 Nov 08, 10:43:31
What do you mean like? Do you not know what we are talking about? I can translate the video if you like also.
By: Mazanostra. on 22 Nov 08, 09:26:29
Actually i did send it to a friend who is from NY and he couldnt understand a thing!!! GO figure! :P
By: Mazanostra. on 22 Nov 08, 09:23:14
Ok, after 5 years in Aberdeen (highlands with the same local accent more or less) this must be the translation of what u just said... i think: What do u mean like? Do u not know what u are on about? Im not sure about the last part at all though, but its fine, english is not my native language. I would REALLY like however, to know what they are saying in this video!
By: fastguy45. on 21 Nov 08, 04:45:17

By: Mahavishnu80. on 21 Nov 08, 03:26:37
and you couldnt even understand the talkover. typical dumb yank.
By: WorshipInTruth. on 20 Nov 08, 22:56:54
Yeah sorry I didnt mean to be rash but I am a firm proponent of the idea that people who do not know what they are talking about should hold their tongue.
By: SnakeMcPlisken. on 20 Nov 08, 11:52:23
That would make sense actually. Although it doesn't mean you have to act like a complete cock.
By: WorshipInTruth. on 19 Nov 08, 18:44:42
Duh boy your dumb. English isnt even derived from Latin. It is a germainic language.
By: SnakeMcPlisken. on 19 Nov 08, 12:57:17
No, just a different dialect of English, with various dialects throughout Scotland. One could argue however that English is a bastardized version of Latin though.
By: Mahavishnu80. on 19 Nov 08, 05:50:53
no thats american your thinking of mate. we have had our own language for thousands of years, which has filtered into the english language.
By: explosiv0. on 18 Nov 08, 23:58:01
naw english people speak a bastardized version of Scottish.
By: WorshipInTruth. on 18 Nov 08, 21:22:37
Dont the scottish just speak a bastardized version of english?
