sounded good at the beginning, just gotta let yourself go and not worry about the results. sooner or later you'll stumble upon a little something that sounds cool, then more and more. kinda like a snowball rolling down a mountain. I just learned of the whamola's existence, now I'm gonna have to make one. I recently built a washtub bass... similar concept I think, just the one string with some funky stuff you can do with it. Homemade instruments rock.

Cool, the first part sounds like Les Claypool from Primmus. (did he invent it?) You can make your own "pickup" by mounting a permanent magnet on the body under the strings, and wiring a female 1/4 mono adapter (radio shack) to the "tuning" end and "bridge" end of your string. It can't shock you, or you would get zapped touching guitar cables.

Just got mine yesterday off ebay. lol, it does kinda suck tone a bit, and there's some lithium grease on the toothed bar, DON'T TOUCH IT! But if you re-wire it, it'll be fine. Good for the price mind. :)
