paul's 'bang bang maxwell's silver hammer' was prophetic. 'bang bang' refers to the firing of a gun. 'maxwell' ('max'), is a cryptic reference to mark chapman. mccartney identified him using a name with the same 2 first letters ('m' & 'a'), and whose 3rd letter ('x') is the universal 'Mark' (as in, Mark chapman) made by people who cannot write (as mccartney could not write chapman's full name). and the charter arms .38 special 'revolver' (a title suggested by paul) was indeed silver.

i see what you mean, any drummer would have to consider themselves lucky to drum with john, paul and george. i think he is a good songwriter and singer. besides at least he's still writing songs, and songs about his friendships, it's not like he used the beatles to get rich, then disspear when they break up. he's a great drumming icon

Name a more accomplished drummer - you can't. Ringo is the best, though he was certainly lucky he got to work with 3 other guys who were pretty good themselves... In terms of singing, he has a very pleasant voice, but when you hear him sing a song that John, Paul or George have also sung, he doesn't even come close. That's just my honest opinion.
