I don't, I leave it on 24/7 without controlling it. Because my house can get really cold so it needs the heat. But you can buy these thermomiter controller things by Zoo Med I think. And it controlls the temperatures.

Oh yeah it's very easy. But it does require a lot of attention, cleaning, ect. So it's an animal you cannot get tired of like fish and stuff. This is an animal that you have to stick to your life. They live up to 20 years+ with proper care. Message me if you have any questions no what they require and things Good luck

Leopard geckos are nocturnal, so they don't need exposure to UV light. At least, that's what I understand.

Their Eyes are Very sensitive. And the Sun, and The UVB Light Are Penatrating the Gecko in a Different way. In Glass, the sun barely even goes in like the UV. They get it somehow, if you have questions ask a Reptile Doctor who is Specifically Taught for Reptiles.

how does a uv light HARM a leopard? Its a reptile it has to have some form of natrual sunlight at some point in time. you don't need it but it doesn't hurt the geckos. and IG that isn't what the calcium is for, the uvb rays help synthesis D3 that helps metabolize calcium so the don't get MBD. but you can get vitamins with D3. so... If the geckos arn't being feed D3 the must gets some uvb at some point in time to help synthesis D3. so... uv light does not harm your animals.

Just to say theres apsalutly nothing wrong with having a low % UV light for a leo, as long as they have plenty of places to hide. Afterall in the wild the sun is obviously out during the day :p

Leopard Geckos are nocternal, so they arent supposed to have uv lighting. Its ok to use a heating light but not uv lighting.

You dont really need one unless you feed him crickets then theyll jump out. mealworms work just as fine though.
