What you're talking about is what a lot of people know as "game." Game is a set of things a a-hole will do specifically to get with a woman. This includes lies, buying flowers, and of course saying that he's a nice guy. My roommate talks about this all the time, and how he tells women that he is a virgin to get with them. Either they know what he's doing, or they're fools. Women are supposed to be cunning. They only time they're cunning is with a rich man so that they get half from the divorce.
